Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Incorporated began its journey with 16 intelligent, energetic and independent womyn. Through our trials and changing times, we remained true to our dream of making Lambda Tau Omega a living reality for generations of womyn who would live to embody it and tells its story. These womyn took pride in their hard work, and with determination and drive, On October 9, 1988 made that dream a reality.
Today, we the womyn known as the “Enchanting Mermaids”, keep the foundation, love, excitement, and mystery of our sisterhood alive. Our organization’s herstory is filled with laughter, triumph, strength, independence, tears, loss, healing and much more. Our goal since 1988 has been to establish a bond between womyn that will not only unite unit us for ever but empower us as well. We rejoice and celebrate when diversity enters our circle of sisterhood. We believe that as a female gender we share the same emotions no matter what ethnicity, race or culture we come from. We celebrate and embrace our womynhood and diversity.
Some call it a myth but the reality of Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Incorporated’s herstory is that it lives profoundly in the hearts of the womyn who dare to take part in her story; these womyn who continue to tell the story of a dream that came true in light gray and royal blue.
